Surgeon General's 5K Run/Walk

The Surgeon General's 5K Run/Walk and APFT will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:00 am near the conference hotel.  Participants also will have the opportunity to take part in the Annual Physical Fitness Test (APFT). which will begin at 6:00 am at the same location (bring a towel!)  There is no charge for either event for conference participants, spouses and guests.

Blood Drive

PHS Officers – WE NEED YOU!  Please make a blood donation to a worthwhile cause on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 10am-3pm during the 2013 USPHS Training and Scientific Symposium in Glendale, AZ.   

The Commissioned Officers Association (COA) has partnered with United Blood Services (UBS), a nonprofit community blood center, providing blood and blood products for local area hospitals throughout the United States. UBS exists to make a difference in people’s lives by bringing together the best people, inspiring individuals to donate blood, producing a safe and ample blood supply, advancing cutting-edge research and embracing continuous quality improvement. Founded in 1943 as the Salt River Valley Blood Bank in Phoenix, Arizona, today United Blood Services community blood centers provide blood, blood components and special services for patients in more than 500 hospitals in 18 states.

We have designated the Phoenix Indian Medical Centeras the recipient organization in efforts to support the work of fellow PHS officers stationed there.
